P23 Feels Like Win After Tough Day at Sebring

Mar 25, 2023

The Sebring 12 Hours started off with tremendous optimism among the Schadefreude Fodder drivers Cottle, Rosenthal, and Witt.

Witt qualified the car in P26, missing the mark of a sub 2 minute lap in either of the two attempts.

Rosenthal started the car. Unfortunately, in traffic, turned himself into the wall in front of a car behind, and then bounced back into traffic only to be hit by another car. Total damage required a tow and 23 minutes in the pits, putting the team down 10 laps and in P48 in the first hour.

As they often do, Schadenfreude Fodder rallied. When the checkered flag flew after 12 hours, the team had worked themselves back to P23; a gain of 3 positions from where they started, but a Herculean leap from where they were at the end of lap one.

A far cry from their P2 podium finish in the 2022 race, but sticking it out and working together felt like a win at the end of the day.
